Pine Ridge Weekly Update

Here are a few quick hits of what is going on at Pine Ridge Church this week!

1. The Essential James | continues this Sunday
Last Sunday, we talked about the need for us to take the next step as Followers of Christ. Many Christians had a point in their lives when they gave their hearts to Christ, but that isn’t where it stops. A lot of people attend churches and have deceived themselves into thinking that hearing the word of God preached every week is enough to get them by. There are also a lot of people that have gathered a lot of Biblical knowledge, but the true question is: What are they actually doing with it? James says, “don’t just be hearers of the word, but be doer’s”. If you missed the message, watch online here.

2. Summer Giving Update
This year our giving has been good, but it hasn’t been as strong as it needs to be and we have recently fallen behind on our budget. Some of this is to be expected in the summer, when lots of people travel and are on vacation, but I’m praying that we’ll continue to be a church that gives generously and meet the needs of God’s church. Let’s see if we can make up this $8,500 shortfall together and move into the fall months with great momentum. If you’d like to give online, or manage recurring contributions, here’s the link to our secure giving page. Thanks so much to those who give faithfully and generously! .

Isn’t it crazy how fast time flies? I can’t wait for summer time to be here! I love all the seasons, but summer is the best because things slow down a little bit and we are able to enjoy relationships. Whether it’s summer vacations, family BBQ’s or pool parties, summer often times means a lot of fun. I know my family is going to enjoy this summer. We have a couple of things planned: We are heading to the beach for a few days, and then touring Washington D.C. with my parents and my brother’s family. It should be a lot of fun!

I know you probably have something great planned to enjoy some time away with family and friends as well. It’s nice for things to be a little relaxed and laid back – we all need it from time to time. At the same time, I want you to know that even when things are a little slower than usual God has called each of us to reach people all through out the year.

I wanted to send you an e-mail to let you know about an opportunity that can help you and your spiritual growth during the summer months. It’s called Automated Giving. Before the summer hits we are challenging our church family to make some decisions to remain faithful in giving during the summer. We have found that people who giving online with a scheduled gift tend to be more consistent in their giving. Though everything slows down a little in the summer we are praying our giving will speed up! We want to be prepared financially for the fall where we will reach a lot of people for Jesus Christ!

Would you be willing to take the next step and sign-up for reccurring giving HERE?
You can also download a hardcopy of our automated giving form there as well.
We also have Online Giving available HERE.

I believe there are three benefits of using Automated Giving:
1. Faithful giving grows your heart to become more like Jesus.
2. You can forget the check book on the weekend’s :)
3. We can maintain ministries for your family during all seasons of the year.

This past Sunday, I spoke on the topic of God and money. If you would like to listen to the message, simply go HERE.

We look forward to seeing you take the plunge and schedule your giving this summer!

Here are a few quick hits of what is going on at Pine Ridge Church this week!

1. Identity Theft | Continues This Sunday
This Sunday, we will once again tackle another lie that can too often steal our identity from us. We are going to be addressing the lie, “I always have to be strong”. If you or someone you know has been going through a tough time or just carrying around way too much, then make sure you/they don’t miss this Sunday. We have an awesome service planned and we are doing things completely different. I truly believe this is going be a freeing day for so many people and lives are going to be changed forever.

2. PRC Picnic | May 30th
Join us immediately following our 10:00a service for a PRC style picnic for you and your entire family. This will be a great opportunity for you to hangout with other PRC families and PRC staff. We will probably get started around 12:30p and there will be food and games for everyone. Lunch will consist of pizza from Naples Pizza, drinks, and cookies. Cost per individual is $4 and $8 per family.

3. Building Update
We are currently just $12,020.42 from completing this renovation project. If you didn’t get a chance to commit to our campaign, or want to continuing giving, then please feel free to do so. All you have to do is go HERE, make sure you select the 5×5 category in the drop down menu, and you can give a one time gift or continue to make payments on your commitment.

4. Teaching Series Audio

For some time we have received requests from many of you for weekly CD’s of our messages. Before moving into our new building we were broadcasting our services on our iCampus every week and uploading the audio from the message to our podcast. As a result, we did not have a need to record the messages to CD every week. Since moving into our new building, we’ve had consistent technical issues with our internet service provider that has obviously affected our iCampus from airing every week and has caused many of you to miss out on hearing the messages.

Starting this Sunday, we will have CD’s available at our Information Desk immediately following the service for $1. You will also be able to purchase CD’s from any of the previous messages from this series for a $1 as well. At the end of each series, you will be able to purchase the entire series for just $5. If you are a PRC Kids Volunteer, then you will continue to get a free copy of the message on CD every week.

We would like to encourage you to pick a CD from time to time to pass-out to friends and family. If a certain message has had an impact on your life – it’s also possible it could impact someone you care about too.

Identity Theft | Begins Sunday!!

Photobucket

Who are you? What defines you? What do people say about you? What makes you distinct? Or different? What makes you YOU? Within this message lies the truth. Actually, it’s the truth about lies. The lies we tell ourselves and the damage they do if we don’t take hold. There’s nothing little or white about them – lies keep us from finding our true identity: the identity we have knowing that we’re living up to the amazing potential that God has planned for us.

Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the full.” The thief wants to rob you, Jesus wants to give you life. But how?

In the Identity Theft series, Pine Ridge Church will unpack how we often look for our identity in all the wrong places, and how a very real enemy plots and schemes to steal it from us.

Please feel free to use this email as an e-vite to invite people to our new teaching series!
