As many of you know, this Sunday May 31st, immediately following the 10:30a service we will be hosting the Joseph Sangl’s Financial Learning Experience. We had originally planned on charging $15 per person for this seminar. However, we have made a decision to offer this seminar for FREE. This event will include: the seminar, seminar resources, lunch, and childcare. Again, all of this is being offered for FREE!
Our current teaching series, Crazy Love, is all about showing Crazy Love to our community by meeting needs and giving generously to the people who need it the most. As a church staff, we began to ask ourselves what we could do to model and lead with Crazy Love. I instantly thought the best way we could do that is to offer free financial education to the people that attend our church and to the people in our community.
Many of you know that just three years ago, Becki and I had accumulated a lot of debt. We finally got fed up with being so deep in debt and began to implement the free tools that Joseph Sangl gave us. In just three years, Becki and I are almost debt free. We still have some work to do and some sacrifices to make, but I believe in the power of these tools, because I have seen what they have done in our life. I want everyone to have the same opportunity that we have had, an opportunity to get on a financial plan that leads down a road towards debt freedom. Imagine what you could do if you had no debt. It is possible!
My prayer is that everyone in our church will come to a point where their money can begin to work for them, instead of against them. So many people live under the heavy weight of financial stress and pressure in their lives and in their marriages. My goal is to see that eliminated in your life so that you can begin to be all that God has designed you to be.
I believe that people at Pine Ridge Church and people in our community want to be more generous. They want to give to the church and want to meet people’s needs. However, many people can’t because they have never had a financial plan. By mismanaging what they have been given, now they are in a position where they really can’t do anything else. I believe it is our job, as the church, to provide education about money and debt for our people.
Offering this seminar for free does not make sense for our church budget. I truly believe that God wanted us to make this decision. I believe that God wants us to model what we so often ask from you. I believe He wants us to step out on faith and to trust Him with our finances.

I would also challenge you to take this opportunity to invite someone to join you. Even if you feel you don’t need it, I can promise you that we all know someone who does.
